The Equestrian

Hi, my name is Emily. I am an award winning author, track star, and master chef [just kidding]. I am just an ordinary, 20-something year old who recently survived college. I was an Animal Science major who didn’t want to be a vet, which obviously means I have no idea what I am going to do with my life.

When I was three years old I started riding lessons and had my first horse by the age of six. I have gone through quite a few horses since then, but they all have been such great experiences. I have been riding English for as long as I can remember, but dressage has always been my primary focus. Although, for the last five years I have been learning the art of natural horsemanship through Parelli. It has been a life changing experience and has really developed me as a person.

I currently own the notorious Estella, the most beautiful diva of all time. My goal is to be her loyal servant for as long as she may grace this earth.

  3. Emma

I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. 🙂

  4. It’s nice to meet another Parelli student on WordPress! Estella seems like a gem!

My horse is 12 now, but I got her when she was just two and I was just starting the Parelli program.
It’s so much fun… and now after having two kids (and not as much barn time), I’m glad I have a horse that is reliable and I can just go for a relaxing trail ride without having any issues. This stuff really works! 🙂

    • That’s incredible! After ten years of Parelli I bet she is impressive :). Before I got Estella I had a 13 year old Paint. When I got a new job I wasn’t able to play with him much, but even if I didn’t do anything with him for a month the next time I played with him he would be as good as ever. He was an LBI and that was a great thing to rely on! I definitely know the feeling!!

      • Charm is a Paint and a LBI also. Too funny! Gotta love those LBIs… 🙂

  5. Love your blog! Not exactly sure how I came across it, but it’s wonderful! I am currently re-training my Appendix to try and show 3rd level and start some eventing. Would love any tips from you! My blog is Good luck with Estella! Love watching y’alls progress!

    • Oh how great! I would definitely be happy to help in any way that I can! Thanks so much!
